John Pcolinski is the founder of John Pcolinski Law, P.C., where he concentrates his practice on commercial and civil litigation, chancery, mediation, appellate law, and general business matters. His first and foremost objective is to achieve reasonable results for his clients as efficiently as possible.

John Pcolinski is a well-established lawyer in DuPage County, and he has provided legal counsel across the legal spectrum for nearly 40 years. His hands-on, practical approach is held in high regard throughout the legal community. While John Pcolinski Law, P.C. provides a full complement of legal services to its clients, John has developed a broad professional network across the legal community throughout his career, enabling his firm to put clients in touch with the right lawyer if, for some reason, the firm is unable to handle your matter.

John is an experienced litigator and business advisor. He has extensive experience representing individuals and companies in business disputes as well as matters involving commercial transactions and governance, trade secrets, and non-competition. His practice has included virtually all types of chancery cases, including injunctions. As a certified Arbitrator for the Eighteenth Judicial Circuit since 1990, John also acts as a mediator/arbitrator of disputes of all types. Beyond representing business clients, John’s practice includes representing individuals on a variety of matters, including probate, guardianship, and real estate (commercial and residential).

John has consistently received an AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell, Inc.—the highest available rating for legal ability, adherence to ethical standards, professional reliability, and diligence. Avvo, an independent, widely recognized legal rating firm, has consistently ranked John as a “Top Attorney”, reflecting his strong legal background.

John is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association and the DuPage County Bar Association (DCBA). He was elected to the ISBA Assembly for multiple terms and has served as a member of the Board of the DCBA for over 20 years. He has also served as General Counsel, Director, Editor in Chief of the DCBA Brief (three times), and committee chair for numerous committees of the DCBA. In recognition of his long-standing commitment to the DCBA, John has received the DCBA’s highest honor, “Lawyer of the Year”. In conferring the award to John, the DCBA reflected that John was the quintessential DuPage attorney, describing him as a fierce advocate, a legal scholar, a mentor, a confidante, and an advisor.

From 2006 to 2014, John was a member of the Illinois Supreme Court Committee on Character and Fitness, the governing body that assesses whether Illinois lawyers possess the requisite character and fitness for admission to the practice of law. Most recently, John was honored to serve as the Chair of the Committee on Character and Fitness from 2016 to 2024. In addition, Mr. Pcolinski has served as an adjunct professor at North Central College in Naperville (his alma mater) from 1987 until 2012, where he enjoyed teaching and mentoring future business leaders.
